In Brief
This website doesn't set any cookies, whether for advertising, tracking or anything else. It does use one measurement tool, SiteBehaviour, which works without cookies and which you can turn off at any time. In this policy, "cookies" also covers similar technologies, such as information kept in your browser's local or session storage.
Measuring the Site (SiteBehaviour)
SiteBehaviour tells us how the site is used, for example which pages people read, how far they scroll and what they click, so we can improve it. It can produce heatmaps and anonymised recordings of visits, and anything typed into form fields is hidden from those recordings. On this site it is set up so that:
- it sets no cookies and saves no permanent identifier in your browser;
- it keeps a temporary visit reference in your browser's session storage while the tab is open, so the pages you look at in one visit are grouped together. It's removed when you close the tab;
- it counts visits with a one-way code calculated from general browser details, such as screen size and browser type. The code resets every 24 hours, so you can't be recognised from one day to the next;
- it produces statistics only, about how this website performs. They aren't used for advertising, and they can't tell us who you are.
UK law allows this kind of statistics tool to run without asking you first, provided it's explained clearly and you can easily say no.
Turning It Off
Click Analytics Settings at the foot of any page and choose to turn measurement off. Your browser then remembers that choice with a single setting named "consent-analytics", and SiteBehaviour won't load for you on this site. To turn it back on, use the same link or clear this site's data in your browser.
Other Companies
There are no social media feeds, embedded videos or adverts on this website, so no other company can place cookies through it.
If This Changes
Before adding anything that stores information on your device and needs your permission, we'll update this page and ask for your consent first.
